Two teenagers, Chloe Naylor, 16, and a 17-year-old boy named Adam, tragically lost their lives in a country road crash near Sittingbourne. The incident occurred on Old Ferry Road, Iwade, when a blue Ford Fiesta veered off the carriageway near a bend. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, fire crews, and an air ambulance, responded promptly to the scene at approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 3rd. The two teenagers were declared deceased at the scene, while a third occupant, a 16-year-old girl, was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. The crash has left the community in shock, with floral tributes left at the scene and two GoFundMe pages set up to support the families of the deceased. One of the pages was created by a friend of Chloe's, Eleanor Olsen, who shared a heartfelt message about Chloe's passing and her mother's desire for a horse-drawn carriage at the funeral. The page has raised over £10,000 so far. Adam, described as 'always smiling and full of life,' was also remembered by his friends and family. Sam Thurman-Newell, in a tribute, expressed their devastation over the loss of their dear friend. The GoFundMe page set up for Adam's family has also received significant support. The teenagers involved are all from the local area, with one identified as a Year 12 student at Fulston Manor School in Sittingbourne. Police are appealing for any witnesses or dashcam/CCTV footage from the area at the time of the crash. The country road, a vital link between Sittingbourne and Medway, was closed for several hours, and the remains of other cars from previous accidents were still present at the scene. Local officials, including Kelvin Rivers-Simpson, a parish councillor, have acknowledged the danger and are working towards improvements, including the potential addition of a roundabout. This tragic incident is one of several recent accidents in the Swale/Medway area, including a woman's death in a crash on the M2 near Gillingham on Christmas Eve, a pensioner's death in a hit-and-run accident just before New Year's, and a motorcycle fatality on the M2 the following Sunday.
